  • Obituary
Gunner Ian W. Graham, whose death on active service is reported, was the eldest of three sons of Mr and Mrs Roland Graham, Ormond. He was born in the district and was educated at King's College, Auckland On several occasions during his youth he travelled abroad, and after completing his education he took employment with Messrs Common, Shelton and Company Limited. He was with that firm when, at 18 years of age he was accepted as a volunteer for military service. His age barred him from overseas service for some time, but 15 months ago he was posted to a unit serving in the Pacific. A sad feature of his death was that he was on the point of his return home to New Zealand. He was 22 years of age. His two brothers are in the Royal New Zealand Navy and at King’s College respectively. Public - Lorraine Mona - Researcher - 3 July 2023 - Death on Active Service
