  • Pilot Officer Abbott was the son of Vernon Richard and Barbara Abbott of Wellington. He was married to Hazel Jean Abbott, of Wellington.

    Operation Fuller was the Allied code name for the response to the breakout from the French port of Brest of the German battle-cruisers "Scharnhorst" and "Gneisenau" and the cruiser "Prinz Eugen" to Germany.
