  • Mr Fleury was one of the first to volunteer in September 1939 but as he had had polio as a child he was turned down, However when the ballot system started his name appeared every time and eventually he was accepted.

    He was a awarded the QSM in 1980 for public duties. He was also presented with an M badge for long service to the RSA AWMM
