The First Section of the 4th Reinforcements of 2 NZEF (83 officers and 1404 other ranks) embarked at Wellington for the Middle East in Batory and Maunganui.The troops transferred to the Orion at Sydney and arrived at Port Tewfik on 16 December 1940.
