  • Son of Gordon Edward and Agnes Isabel Lamb, of Auckland

    Educated at Frankton School, Hamilton and Mt Albert Grammar School.

    He moved to Wellington and worked in the Post Office service. He was well-known in the city as secretary of the Swifts Football Club.

    He was accepted early in 1939 for a four-year short service commission in the RAF.

    Originally buried near the Tobruk-Bardia Road, later reinterred at Acroma
