    Took an important part in the negotiations at the time of the Italian Armistice, concerning the handing over of the Italian Air Force. He met the Italian Air Chiefs in Sicily and instructed them on what they were required to do. Was commander of RAF Tangmere and RAF Ballyhalbert.
