  • Paul Rabone was the son of Wing Commander Clarence Noble Rabone and Frances May Rabone, of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England; husband of Pamela Barbara Rabone, of Kairanga, Wellington.

    1932-33 Attended New Plymouth Boys' High School

    Attended Palmerston North Technical College

    September/October 1940 -Promoted to Flying Officer

    27 December 1940 - Acting Flight Lieutenant

    3 September 1941 -Flight Lieutenant

    Married Miss Buchanan from Palmerston North on 12 September 1941. She was the sister of Flight Lieutenant Lindsay Buchanan, DFC, reported missing in the Middle East in April 1944. Accompanied by her husband she received her brother Lindsay's medals from the King on 22 October 1942.

    July 1943 - Flight Commander - Acting Squadron Leader

    Originally buried in Heligoland OIsland, later re-interred in Hotton British Military Cemetery in Belgium.
