  • Sergeant Rasmussen was the son of Frederick Woodney Rasmussen and Annie Shaw Rasmussen, of Remuera, Auckland, New Zealand.

    Educated at Remuera Primary School and Auckland Grammar School where he had a fine sporting record. After leaving school he was a member of the Grafton Cricket Club and played rugby for Grammar Old Boys.
