  • Son of Richard Henry Burgess and Bessie (Betsey) Ferguson Burgess.

    Husband of Mrs Marguerite Ivy Geraldine Burgess (nee McRae, later Lorgelly), they married in 1915.

    Four brothers went to war: two were killed William John Burgess (61037) and George Bruckshaw Burgess (32294), the third, Edward Ernest Burgess (32299), lost a leg and the fourth Tom Burgess (6850), twin brother of George returned home uninjured.
