    • Gordon Burn was the son of Philip Edward and Emma Sarah Burn. AWMM
    • Gordon Philip Stanley Burn was born on the 12th April 1894 in Wellington. He was the youngest of four, two sisters, Maud & Edith and a brother Ernest. Primary education was at Mangaroa School, Upper Hutt.
      Prior to enlisting he was working as a carpenter. During the first week in April 1916 he was given a send- off by his many friends at Te Marua. During the evening, he was the recipient of a money belt with a suitable lining. He embarked for England via Suez and Alexandria on the 1/5/1916, arriving in Southampton on the 7/8/1916, then leaving Sling(Anzac) Camp for France arriving at Etaples on 21/8/1916.
      On the 27th March 1918 he died of wounds, aged 23, in Doullens. Public - Edward Laurence - Other relative - 8 September 2016 - Family history.
