  • William Geoffrey Wilson was born in Wellington on 13 May 1919. He served with the 5th Field Regiment, NZ Artillery, 2NZEF, during World War II. He was killed in action in the Western Desert on 27 November 1941.

    Also was on the Aquitania.

    Wilson's diary was later found on the battlefield by German soldier, Hans Stauder, who continued it with entries of his own. Stauder then returned the diary to Wilson's family some years afterward. (Ref. MS 2002/157; MS 2005/29) AWMM
