    Returned to New Zealand at end of war on Pakeha (ship), arriving on 31 May 1919, after serving 2 years, 285 days overseas and 137 days in NZ; a total of 3 years, 57 days. He was made a Lance Corporal on 16 December 1918. Returned to 19 Ponsonby Tce. when discharged. Pension received A.F.B. 2 June 1919.

    Death notice states he was the second son of the late Charles and Ellen Lucas of Auckland, and loved brother of Mary, Lina, Charlie, Tattie and Veronica. AWMM
