  • James Peacock was the son of Mrs Sarah Ann Skidmore (formerly Peacock) of Napier, New Zealand.

    Joined RN Motor Boat Patrol Service as Motor Mechanic [Local] 29 January 1916 - when to UK for training as RNVR, August 1916 posted to the depot ship HMS QUEEN at Taranto Italy, posted to HMY Catania deport for MLs in Malta October 1916, March 1918 - posted to HMS Egmont II for MLs operating from Port Said then hospitalised for TB - invalided to NZ discharged September 1919 & returned home to NZ - he would die of the TB contracted in Egypt & buried at Waipukurau Cemetary Hawkes Bay AWMM
