  • Son of Thomas William and Caroline Budd, of Papatoetoe

    Attended Papatoetoe Primary and Otahuhu Technical High School (1935-36). Played football.

    Member of the College Rifles Rugby Football Club.

    Went on to Anti-aircraft Defence at beginning of war. Was supposed to go to Fanning Island, but appendicitis prevented this. Instead he went back to Trentham and went away with the 4th Reinforcements. He was a Lewis gun instructor.

    According to Otahuhu College archives, he lost his life at Bisi Sidi Rezegh. He was in charge of Machine Gun Section. AWMM
