    • Son of Arnold Harold and Lilian Kate (nee Kigar / Kjar) Hadley of Thames

Trevor Hadley and his younger brother Ronald Hadley embarked for UK in March 1940. Both men served with 58 Squadron, Bomber Command, part of 4 Group. This squadron, ex Coastal Command was based at Linton-on-Ouse, Yorkshire from 14 February 1940.

Ron Hadley was killed in action on 9 September 1940 when his plane crashed with engine trouble following a successful raid over Germany. It was his 15th mission and he was aged just 20.

Not among the ‘few’ (Wynn, 1981) as served Bomber Command but AWMM includes him in Battle of Britain display (2010), as he was killed when his plane crash-landed 8/9 October 1940, and at the time of unveiling of the Westminster Abbey Battle of Britain Memorial Windows, his dad was invited to attend, indicating that his death was part of the larger view.
