  • To the Family of "Bill" Hakaraia. My father was a Lieutenant in the 27th Machine Gun Battalion.
Michael Hanan. (Mick). He told wonderful stories of his War days. But I always remember the ones about his good "mate" Bill Hakaraia. My dad wrote his War Memoirs (for his family )and your relative Bill is featured throughout the book. When Bill died in action, it affected my dad deeply. I just wanted you to know he was a much loved comrade. Jill
