    • James Bussell was the son of James Bussell and Kate Eliza Matilda Bussell, of Colyton, Feilding, New Zealand.

      The 'Chronicles of the N.Z.E.F", 14.2.1917 reports that Private Bussell is a prisoner of war at Angora, Turkey.

      'Private Bussell was wounded in the head and right leg during the Gallipoli fighting, and it was possible that he never fully recovered from his wounds. He was interned at Bilemedik for some time, but was recently transferred to Angora, where he died.' Chronicles of the N.Z.E.F. 28.3.1917 p. 66. AWMM
    • Private James Bussell - of the Wellington Infantry Battalion NZEF - was captured by Turkish Forces - on 8 August 1915 - at Chunuk Bair, Gallipoli, Turkey.
