- James Barton was the son of James Meffen Barton and Elizabeth Barton of Christchurch.
He was the husband of V.N. Barton (Very May? WAAF Cpl). Mrs Barton came to New Zealand on board the Akaroa arriving in Auckland on 8 March 1946. AWMM
