  • Jack was my mother's brother. He was missing in action, & my grandparents waited long after WW2 in case he turned up. He was dux of Ashburton High School, & was awarded scholarships to attend university. He was also a very competent sportsperson. I have his metal chest that he took away to war. It was returned to the family after the war.
