  • Son of James and Annie Allison, of Paori, Wanganui.

"Left New Zealand September 23rd, 1916. He was three weeks in Egland [sic] before he went to France, where he served through the battle of Messines. On October 3rd, 1917, he was killed at Gravenstafel, near Passchendaele Ridge. He, in company with others, was lying out in a shell hole ready for an advance, but as the German barrage was so heavy they were ordered back to their trench. Immediately afterwards a shell exploded, whicih [sic] caught them all." (In Memoriam, 1914-1918 [Wanganui Collegiate School]) AWMM
