  • Ronald Cairns was the son of Walter and Isabella Cairns, of 132, Tinakori Rd., Wellington, New Zealand.

    New Zealand at the Front ( a magazine written and published and illustrated in France by men of the New Zealand Division) 1917 issue, page141.

    Embarked Wellington, 26 June 1916; disembarked Devonport, England, 22 August 1916, and marched into Sling Camp, 23 August 1916.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 30 October 1916; joined 2nd ANZAC Corps Cyclist Bn, in the field, 16 November 1916.
    Killed in action, 7 June 1917.
