      Brook.— Killed in action, Geoffrey Stephen William, beloved younger son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Brook, Emily St., Gisborne; aged 24 years.     • Private Geoffrey Stephen William Brook, reported killed in action, was the youngest son of Mr. and Mrs. W. Brook. Mangapapa. Born at Motu, 24 years ago. he received his early education at the Motu School and later attended the Gisborne High School. While at the high school he took a prominent part in all. activities connected with the school, being a member of the first fifteen from 1938 to 1939. a member of the school drama club and a senior prefect. After leaving school he proceeded to the Wellington Training College. Shortly after the outbreak of war he entered the Territorial Force and later proceeded overseas. He had 15 months service away from New Zealand. Before transferring to the infantry he was attached to the Army Service Corps as a sergeant.
