  • Cecil Gray was the son of Charles Montrose and Tydvil May (nee Edwards) Gray, of Auckland, New Zealand.

    Air Gunner's Badge: awarded 18 January 1941

    Gray, was buried initially by the wreckage of the bomber, but was later reinterred at Knightsbridge War Cemetery.

    Brothers Cecil Montrose Gray (NZ401436) and Murray Llewellyn Gray (NZ40124) were killed in WW2.

    The Auckland Museum Library's manuscripts collection holds papers relating to Gray's war service. [Ref. MS 2002/27]
