  • William Caldwell was the son of William Augustus and Elizabeth Caldwell; husband of Mary Caldwell, of Heretaunga St., Petone, Wellington. Native of Clive, Hawkes Bay. Served in the South African Campaign.

    Enlisted in 1902 as Augustus Caldwell.

    New Zealand at the Front ( a magazine written and published and illustrated in France by men of the New Zealand Division) 1917 issue, page141.

    His father was named William Caldwell. AWMM
