  • While researching the Campbell family for a friend I came across the name of Ernest Wellesley Campbell 1885-1915. Ernest was killed in action at Chunak Bair Gallipoli on 8th August 1915. He served with the Wellington regiment under Col. Malone. They reached the highest point on the Gallipoli peninsula only to be driven off by the Turks. I dont know what his civilian occupation was. He was unmarried. His father had died and his mother was living in Santiago, Chile.
Rest in peace Ernest -you are not forgotten.
