      Rejoined Battalion, 25 November 1916.
      Evacuated sick, 3 March 1917.
      Died of CerebroSpinal Meningitis, St Omer, 4 March 1917. Aged 23.
      Buried at Longuenesse (St Omer) Souvenir Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France. The Commonwealth section of the cemetery contains 2,874 Commonwealth burials of the First World War (6 unidentified).
      Obituary PRIVATE F. A. CAMPBELL. Private Finlay Augustus Campbell, died in hospital in France, was born in the Wairarapa, and educated at the Grammar School. He was for some time on the literary staff of the Auckland "Star," and later sub-editor for the Stratford "Post." He left New Zealand with the 7th Reinforcements. His relatives reside at Matangi, Waikato.
