    • George Colin Campbell was the son of John and Agnes Campbell, of Manaia, New Zealand. AWMM
    • As per "The Promised Land" the story of George and Margaret Gibson. 100 years in NZ. Compiled by Rosalie Gibson and Joan Gower.
      George Colin was the 2nd child of Agnes and John Campbell.He was born 6th of June 1891 at Pikopiko, Upokongaro Wanganui.
      He was educated at Manaia, Taranaki.
      He was the family's farmer until WW1.
      He was born on the 21st of June 1891.
      His Service number 33294 (adds up to 21).
      He entered camp at Trentham 21st of September 1916.
      He came home on final leave on 21st of December 1916.
      He left NZ 21st of January 1917.
      He embarked with the 21st reinforcements.
      He was killed 21st of June 1917. Aged 26.
      Buried at Nieppe Communal Cemetery near Armentierres, France.
      (He was my maternal Grandmothers brother). Public - Richard - Other relative - 23 April 2017 - As above. Information published in a family history. "To the promised land". A book to commemorate 100 years in New Zealand. Compiled by Rosalie Gibson and Joan Gower for a Gibson family reunion 5-7 February 1988.
