  • Son of Clifford Kenneth Rowland and Jeanne Rowland (nee Collins), Clifford was killed during the Battle of the Somme during the First World War, and Jeanne died in February 1918 possibly due to the Influenza epidemic. Their son was adopted by a close friend of Jeanne - Belinda and William Henry Clayton.

    Kenneth was a seaman on the steam passenger ship Oropesa, when it sunk on the 16th January 1941. AWMM
