      Stirling W7584 BU-D - on an air operation to Torino - the crew experienced severe engine problems on the return journey. With very low fuel and bad weather the Pilot - RNZAF Pilot Officer Edmund Murray Corlett - ordered the crew to bale out - which they all did. Pilot Officer Corlett remained with the aircraft until it crashed - at 03.42 hours - at Stradishall, Suffolk, England.
