      This aircraft - RNZAF P40E-1 25100 - was taken over from the 68th PG, USAAF by No.15 Squadron at Fuamotu, Tonga on 27 October 1942.
      To No.15 Squadron coded "12".


      Reason for aircraft/Pilot loss :

      Mid air collision with a US Navy SBD-3 Dauntless, BuNo06589 from VB-11 at 0945 hours on 25 March 1943.
      The aircraft collided at 10,000 feet - about 20 miles from Nandi during an escort exercise - while avoiding a diving attack by a USN F4F and both spun into the sea.
