  • Attended King's College 1929-31 where he was attached to Town House. He was a notable all-round sportsman at school playing rugby and cricket.

    He represented the RAF in different sports teams too.

    After gaining a civil licence at Auckland Aero Club Mangere, he took a short-service commission in the RAF.

    He was a fighter-leader of No.504 Hurricane fighter -Squadron at Dunkirk and the Battle of Britain. He was killed in action over London.
