    • Barney Warbrick was the son of Waata (Walter) and Awhuti Warbrick, of Waiuku, New Zealand. AWMM
    • Barney Warbrick served in the Royal New Zealand Airforce as a Pilot. He was from a small town called Waiuku, the first person from the IWI of Ngaati Te Ata to qualify as a Pilot.
      Barney attended Elementary Pilot training in the South Island from RNZAF base Taieri where he flew Tiger Moths as basic trainer before moving to the Advanced training Aircraft. Barney was posted to the Royal Canadian Airforce and flew the North American T6 Harvard. The Harvard was knick named the " Pilot maker " denoting the skill required to fly such an Airplane.
      Barney returned to New Zealand to fly the Curtis P40 Kittyhawks from RNZAF Base Ohakea and RNZAF Base Ardmore and at RNZAF Base Ardmore is where he flew the RNZAFs latest Fighter Aircraft the F4U-1 Corsair. Public - Paapaka - Direct descendant - 2 February 2022 - Personal military records
