  • Flying Officer Davidson was the son of Arnold and Leah Davidson, of Napier, Hawke's Bay, New Zealand; husband of Mary Davidson, of Napier.

    He was the captain of a Wellington bomber which was part of an attack on a convoy on the Orvieto-Ficulle road. While attacking the convoy the plane hit trees and crashed on a hilltop, the bombs exploding on impact.This was Davidson's second tour with 37 Squadron and his 49th op.
