  • George De Vere was the son of George Frederick de Vere, and of Ada Mary Charlotte de Vere (nee Macklow), of Christchurch, Canterbury, New Zealand.

    Died during training at New Plymouth in a Gipsy Moth plane when it collided with another plane while taxing on the airfield.

    Remembered on the Takapuna War Memorial, The Strand, Takapuna.
