  • Leslie Derrett was the son of Edwin Arthur and Annie Derrett, of White Cliffs, Canterbury, New Zealand.

    Driver Derrett was attached to a detail issue depot (supply dump) when he was killed in a bombing raid. He was sheltering behind a tree when a bomb skidded past him. He stood up to have a closer look when it exploded. AWMM
