  • Edward Doherty was the son of Thomas S.J. Doherty and Gertrude Annie Doherty (nee Hibbs) of Tauranga. Attended Ashburton High School, Marlborough College, Canterbury University College and Elam School of Arts. Source: Martyn, For Your Tomorrow, Vol.3, p.168.

    There is a reference to the funeral of Ted Doherty in the diary of Sergeant Pilot Raymond Herbert John Broady (NZ39691). [Ref. MS 883].
