David Reid Carpenter
Dear Uncle David you left us too soon as did so many other young men of your time. You were never forgotten by your family especially your sister's. Beatrice spoke of you, to me, her great grand daughter and I am proud to have your medals in my possession .

Remembering Uncle David all day- 25:4:15 - and also his brother George who was my father and served at Gallipoli. I understand my dad picked up the radio message re David's death. My brother David, named after our uncle David was in the RNZAF serving in the Fleet Air Arm during WW11. Our Grandfather, Major Robert Carpenter would be proud of his sons. The Major had a great deal to do with the training of recruits in Auckland. Proud to follow a family association with the Armed Forces, becoming Deputy Senior Chaplain to NZ Defence and Principal Chaplain RNZAF -- Wing Commander the Reverend T.G.C.
