  • ANZAC DAY 2020

    Dear Owen,

On this day, 79 years ago, you were part of the 4th Field Regiment of the New Zealand Army in Greece in retreat from the advancing German Army. You were 20 years old and had your whole life ahead of you. Thankfully you escaped from Greece and survived the fighting on Crete. Tragically you only had a few months left to live after that but your family is so proud of you and will never, ever forget you.

With love always, your niece Sally and all your family xxx

However, you will never be forgotten by your family, no matter how many years pass, and you will always be missed. Thank you for your service to New Zealand and thank you too for being such a wonderful son and brother to Cara and Val. With love from your niece Sally and all the family.
