    Dear Owen,

    On this day, 79 years ago, you were part of the 4th Field Regiment of the New Zealand Army in Greece in retreat from the advancing German Army. You were 20 years old and had your whole life ahead of you. Thankfully you escaped from Greece and survived the fighting on Crete. Tragically you only had a few months left to live after that but your family is so proud of you and will never, ever forget you.
