    • Reason for aircraft/air-crew loss.

      15-16 July 1941.
      75 (New Zealand) Squadron RAF.
      RAF Base : Feltwell, Norfolk, UK.
      Aircraft Type: Blenheim Ic R3171.
      Aircraft/Air-Crew loss area : Over the North Sea.
      Taking off at 23:00 hours - from 75 Squadron RAF Base at Feltwell, Norfolk, UK - with 8 other aircraft from the Unit/Squadron.
      Blenheim Ic R3171 - piloted by New Zealander Robert Fotheringham RNZAF NZ/ 391833 - of Hamilton, New Zealand was lost without trace (believed shot down by German anti-aircraft fire). Only 2 bodies - of the 6 - crew men aboard R3171 were found including New Zealander Pilot Officer Robert Fotheringham. The remaining crew are remembered on the Runnymede (Air Force) Memorial to the Missing at Runnymede, Surrey, UK. Public - Jenifer - Researcher - 30 May 2019 - www.aircrewremembered.com (England).
