  • Henry Carswell wsa the son of Mr & Mrs James Carswell, of Gordonton, Waikato.

    Private Carswell was killed on 7 August (recorded as 8 August) in the charge at the Pinnacle during the August Offensive. He was reported missing on the 8 August 1915.

    Private Carswell's brother, 13/2283 Sergeant John Carswell, Auckland Mounted Rifles, also served in WWI. AWMM
