  • Son of Arthur Evers-Swindell and of Felicia Evers-Swindell (nee Heaton), of Havelock North.

Flying Officer Evers-Swindell was the pilot of a Hurricane taking part in an Army co-operation exercise at Madh Island. The plane stalled at 800 feet while making a mock attack on gun positions and crashed into a tidal creek. He was initially buried at Sewri, near Bombay, and later reinterred at Kirkee.
