  • Son of Percy William Walker and of Docie Walker (nee Powick), of Portland near Whangarei

    His wife resided in Auckland.

    Educated at St Stephen's College, he was a keen footballer and a member of the Awanui team. He joined up with the Maori Battalion in 1941, and was promoted to Lance-Corporal a week before he went into action in Libya.

    He died of sickness at the Middle East Base Hospital.

    Next of kin listed in the Auckland Museum. Roll of Honour, Auckland Province, 1939 - 1945 as son of Mrs P Walker of Waikiekie. AWMM
