  • George Carter was the son of Samuel and Jane Carter; husband of Anna Susan Carter, of Anderson St., Eketahuna.

    Embarked Wellington, 12 June 1917; disembarked Devonport, England, 16 August 1917.
    Proceeded overseas to France, 20 November 1917; joined 4th Bn, 3rd NZ Rifle Brigade, and posted to D Company, in the field, 15 December 1917.
    Died of wounds received in action, 7 January 1918.

    Parents: the late Samuel and Jane Carter; wife: Anna Susan Carter, Anderson Street, Eketahuna. Born at Timaru, Canterbury, New Zealand AWMM
