  • Eion Field was a civilian employee of the Air Ministry as Stores Superintendent at Singapore when the city fell to the Japanese. Along with others he was given honourary Air Force rank and uniform to avoid being accused as a spy.

    In May 1942 he and others escaped on Batavia, were recaptured, tried and executed. His exact date of death is uncertain, and his remains have not been located.
