  • My father, Douglas Raymond Davidson of St Kilda, Dunedin was a close friend of Bob Garbutt’s in the days leading up to WW2. He was devastated to hear of his death over Germany, and when I was born in October 1947, I was named Brian Robin Davidson in his honour. I have wanted to know more about him and his family in the years since. I believe he had a brother named Jack who my father kept in touch with after the war for some years.
