  • Tommy Teriaki was the son of Whanawhana Teriaki, and of Makereta Teriaki, of Drury, Auckland, New Zealand.

    An article in the Western Leader mentions the diary of Douglas Strid, a member of 24 Battalion, who wrote in his war time diary about the death of eight of his colleagues on 1 January 1945 and their burials.

    He served with the Royal New Zealand Air Force in the Construction Unit in Fiji, he then returned to Army. AWMM
