  • Uncle Chas was a favourite brother of my Grandma, Isobel. We have an Egyptian leather folio with their correspondence from pre-departure in Papakura to the final letter of condolence from members of his unit. His picture was always with her and is now with Uncle Ross (First name Charles). My brother was able to pay his respects to our Great Uncle when he travelled through North Africa and I know that more of Isobel's family would love to do the same. We will remember him. • My mum was Lois, Uncle Charles sister, there was a small bible which Charles took with him to war. He had it sent back to give to Mum, which she kept. She sometimes showed it to me and told me about her 3 brothers who served in WW11. This little bible I have now given to our daughter Gemma Crouch who I know will take very good care of it. RIP uncle Charlie
