In Loving Memory of an Uncle I never got to meet. THE LONE POPPY In a lone field, a poppy grows its head bending low, Praying for the soldiers who have fallen years ago; He's fiery red in colour like the blood that has been spilled, upon that ground so long ago when many brave were killed. But now just like that poppy that stands there all alone, Please stop and pray for soldiers who never will come home; Let that poppy remind us of those who went before, and say a prayer for soldiers still fighting in our wars.
