  • Frederick Thorstensen was the son of Frederick William Thorstensen, and of Annie Thorstensen (nee Laurie), of Dannevirke, Hawke's Bay.

    He was the wireless operator in a Stirling bomber which crashed near Berlin while on a raid on Berlin, killing all on board except the mid-upper gunner who was taken prisoner. AWMM
