    "AIRCRAFT FATALITY
    AUCKLAND PILOT KILLED
Advice that their son, Pilot-Officer John Alexander Grierson, has lost his life in an aircraft accident in England has been received by Mr. and Mrs. C. K. Grierson, of 28 Epsom Avenue, Epsom.

Pilot-Officer Grierson, who was 21, was a pupil of the Auckland Grammar School. He joined the Royal New Zealand Air Force last December, and after training at Levin and Whenuapai he went to Canada and then to England.

At the flying training school that he attended in Canada Pilot-Officer Grierson gained the highest marks in navigation awarded since the school started in 1935. Before his enlistment he was with the firm of A. and J. Grierson and Browne, public accountants, and shortly before leaving New Zealand, when he had reached the age of 21, he was admitted as a member of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. News of his promotion from the rank of leading-aircraftman to pilot officer was received just a month ago.
